Welcome to the official website for OLD OWENS CRICKET CLUB. The club is affiliated to the Hertfordshire Cricket Association, the Club Cricket Conference and are members of the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League (SHCL).
The SHCL is the largest single league in the Country with fourteen divisions including 100 clubs fielding over 200 sides. The SHCL works as a feeder League for the Home Counties Premier League.
In 2008 Old Owens 1st XI will play in Division 5 of the SHCL, the 2nd XI in Division 8 and the 3rd XI in Division 12.
In addition to Saturday League cricket, the 1st XI plays Friendly matches on Sundays (mostly at home). In 2008 we have entered the Potters Bar Midweek 20/20 League once again, the Herts County Trophy and also the Middlesex Vase. There is therefore plenty of opportunity to play matches outside the Saturday Herts League games.
The Senior Club was formed in 1924 and moved to it’s present home in Potters Bar in the Early 1990’s.
The Facilities at Old Owens Cricket Club can be described as some of the best in Hertfordshire and you can expect to receive a warm and friendly welcome, in a very relaxed and sociable atmosphere.
The excellent condition of the ground is reflected in the high marks we receive from our League Facilities marks each Season. In 2002 the club unveiled it’s new Electronic scorebox which has proved to be a great addition to the already excellent facilities.
The thriving OLD OWENS COLTS SECTION is for youngsters aged 8 to 17. The Colts play in the Hertfordshire Colts Competition with continued great success and we are very proud of everything that they already have and continue to achieve. If you are a colt or a parent who would wish to join the club please contact one of the Committee on the ABOUT US section of this website.
In recognition of our work with young cricketers, Old Owens CC have been designated as a 'FOCUS' club within Hertfordshire. Now the Club is working towards gaining full 'CLUBMARK' status.

Old Owens CC is a friendly and ambitious club, running 3 sides each Saturday in the Saracens Herts Cricket League. We offer an early introduction to senior cricket for many of our young players in all of our 3 senior sides, which significantly aids their development as cricketers.
Our highly successful youth section ranges from 7 to 15 years of age, boys and girls. The main coaching sessions run every Tuesday evening throughout the summer. All our coaches are ECB qualified at either Level I or Level II and the programme includes competitive matches in the Herts Colts Leagues.
